As of September 2021, the Olympic Channel has more than 30 million followers on social media platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and YouTube. These numbers keep increasing as the channel provides exciting content about the Olympic Games, athletes, and various sports events.
We were approached with a request to come up with a concept and to produce broadcast package for a new Anatomy of series.
Once styleshots and the concept were signed off we started to work closely with programme producers.
Turns out that the greatest challenge for us was to simplify athlete test data, and to make it easy to understand. Therefore, communication with programme producers and directors was critical.
Selected Data points
Compared to the initial styleframes where athlete test data was greatly stylised, the original series focused greatly on accurate test data.
The film crew were working on the spot and often had to improvise with the framing. We were challenged to think creatively and to look at how we can incorporate complex data on top of film.
We delivered a variety of motion graphic elements, including an intro and outro for each episode, video bumpers, animated athlete test data, templates, and cover graphics for social media.
Following the success of the first season, we collaborated with the Olympic Channel and IMG teams and produced motion graphics for both the second and third seasons.
